Khajjiar, Chamba

Mini Switzerland of Himachal Pradesh. One of the best camping sites in Himachal Pradesh is located in the Chamba district. It is popular for its wide grassy areas that meet dense forests of deodar and cedar forest. The vast open spaces are best for setting up camp. There are many places to visit like a trek from Barapatthar to Panjpulla, bird watching, Zip lining, Golden Devi temple, Khajji Nag, Khajjiar lake, etc. everything there will captivate your heart.

Best time to visit all through the year but you can avoid really cold winter days. The nearby main city is Dalhousie (24 KM) and is easily approachable by buses, taxis, and cabs. Approx RS 2000 per head for 1N/2D can be the price of camping.

Kheerganga, Kullu

Most popular for the hot spring and its scenic views. Camping in the Himalayan Mountains is going to take you to a different world of happiness. Kheerganga is situated in the Kullu district. You can take the awesome experience of staying in camps, trekking, and bonfire. You can do trekking in Parvati valley and in snow-clad mountains enveloped by clouds. Tourists can visit nearby places like Tosh, Naina Bhagwati Mandir, and Manikaran, etc. Kheerganga is 102 KM from Manali and 64 KM from Kullu. It is easily accessible by bus, cabs, and nearby Bhuntar airport (54KM).

Chandratal, lahual Spiti

Popularly known as the trekker’s paradise situated at an altitude of 4300 meters. It offers the most breathtaking views of the Spiti region. It is the destination for trekkers and campers. Chandratal is the origin point and source of the River Chandra. Places to visit near Chandratal are Sissu, Kunzum pass, Darcha, Baralacha La, Surajtal etc.

Manali is 140 KM away from the Chandratal. You can take a direct bus from Manali early in the morning. You can also take a bus to Kaza. May to September will be a great time to visit Lahaul. 1N/2D camping will cost approx RS 2000 per person.

Triund, Dharamshala

Located in the Dhauladhar range. Triund is the crown of Dharamshala. It is located in the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh. Do you know? Trekking is the only way to reach the top of Triund Hill. Can you imagine the main adventure? Camping and tents are the only shelters on the top. Most stunning view of Dhauladhar ranges on one side and the most beautiful Kangra valley on the other.

Bhagsunag fall, Dal Lake, St. John church are the Prime locations. Triund is 18KM from Dharamshala. Best time to visit March-June and September-November. 1N/2D camping will cost approx RS 1800 per person.

Kalpa, Kinnaur

Kalpa is a small village situated in the Kinnaur. If you want to feel the inner silence of Himachal Pradesh then you must visit Kalpa and do camping. You can feel the purity of air and your soul together. It is just like a fairy tale to watch Kinner Kailash, suicide point, Batseri village, and many more. Traveling by bus then it is the best way to reach Kalpa. You can take a direct bus from Delhi and Chandigarh to Reckong Peo (8Km from Kapla) HRTC buses are a good option to travel.

Malana, Kullu

When we talk about district Kullu of Himachal Pradesh, then how can we forget Malana for camping and trekking. Malana is also known as little Europe in India. This little Europe of India is also known for its cultural and religious beliefs. Jamdagni Temple, Chanderkheni, Deo Tibba Mountain are some places to visit. The better option for Mountain biking, Angling, trekking, Camping, and Paragliding. It is situated in the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh. Dharamshala is 50 Km from Bir Billing. Gaggal airport is the nearest airport (68Km). Baijnath (Kangra) has its own railway station. The best time to visit is March to May and late September to November. Camping price approx- 2500 per head with 1N/2D. Price can vary according to luxury.

Beas Kund, Kullu
