Story Behind Barog Tunnel

On the way from Kalka to Shimla, there are more than a hundred tunnels and more than 850 bridges, where the mysterious Kalka to Shimla Barog Tunnel no.33 is known as the most haunted tunnel among hundreds of tunnels. At that time government has given building tunnel no.33 responsibility to the British Engineer (Kernal Barog).

Unfortunately, the right and left sides of the tunnel did not match when excavation was done from both sides. Due to this a lot of time and money of the government was wasted. As a result of his actions, the government was angry with him and the name of that engineer was also ruined. In addition to the fine, he was fined rupee 1. He could not bear his humiliation and shot himself in the same tunnel.

From that day locals of this area said his spirit can be seen mostly nearby this tunnel. Even today, no one goes there after dark. It is said that the soul of a person who has died before his death time, their soul keeps wandering.

After Barog a new engineer was appointed for this job, but he also had to face the same problem. According to the advice of locals, with the help of the guidelines of Baba Bhalku Ji, the work of this tunnel was finished. It was done by shifting the tunnel to 1 km.

Dukhani house is a beautiful British house. It is said that in this house spirit of an old man roaming. In the nighttime different kinds of sounds can be heard. Here in this house, an old man shouted himself. As locals say a gown wears an old man is maximum seen at the night time.

Charleville Mansion

Charleville mansion is built from the British time. From that time annoying, unhappening, and disturbing activities were noticed here. The presence of someone is often felt by residents.

Convent of Jesus & Mary

Convent of Jesus & Mary is a famous and reputed school in Shimla. This school comes on the list of the most haunted places in Shimla. Many paranormal activities are found here like, a girl always talking to her doll .children reported many paranormal activities.
Jesus & Mary convent school becomes the center of discussion in 2012 when two students of IV standard commit suicide. Parents of these students claim their children are pressured by teachers by excessive workloads.
